Tyson Meals donates 500K kilos of protein to twister victims


Tyson Meals Meals that Matter catastrophe reduction groups deployed this week to serve scorching meals and donate free merchandise to these impacted by current storms in Arkansas. Meals that Matter groups are working from Wynne, Arkansas, which suffered huge harm from the current tornados. The corporate is donating 500,000 kilos of protein in complete, the equal of two million servings, to the Little Rock and Wynne communities.

Partnering with Walmart, groups will arrange cooking operations within the car parking zone of the Wynne Walmart, 800 U.S. Freeway 64, to serve and distribute scorching meals, together with bulk donations of protein. The meals and bulk donations can be distributed in a drive-thru system. The partnership with Walmart permits Tyson Meals workforce members to offer and prepare dinner 1000’s of kilos of protein, whereas Walmart cooks put together vegetable sides, bread and dessert. A part of the protein donation will go to the Arkansas Meals financial institution in Little Rock and the Northeast Arkansas Meals financial institution in Jonesboro. 

The deployment to Wynne comes after greater than 30 Tyson workforce members with the Meals that Matter catastrophe reduction effort spent 5 days in Rolling Fork, Mississippi, following a lethal twister March 24. The corporate served greater than 13,000 scorching meals and donated 500,000 kilos of frozen protein to residents, a hospital and a number of other meals banks and pantries. The corporate is working with the Mississippi Meals Community, a Feeding America companion, to offer grant cash for ongoing wants similar to freezers and cupboard space.
