Collaboratively Championing a Resilient Native Meals Motion & Farmer Prosperity — The Dust


This program represents objectives which were specified by our new five-year strategic plan: natural farmer prosperity, resilient native meals motion, funding in native farmers and meals techniques, and organizational energy.  

We all know that with partnerships like this, we are able to do the work required for a extra resilient Georgia meals system. 

EVOLUTION OF GEORGIA ORGANICS’ COMMUNITY FOOD SYSTEMS WORK 

The Household Farm Share program marks a transition from our six-year working Georgia Meals Oasis outreach initiative which sundown in Dec. 2021.  

Just like the Household Farm Share program, Georgia Meals Oasis targeted on figuring out and bolstering native partnerships that join households and farmers throughout Georgia communities. 

Georgia Meals Oasis (GFO) communities—Augusta, Columbus, Rome, Savannah, Walton County, and Waycross—proceed to exhibit the collaborative energy when farmers, educators, vitamin leaders, and native meals advocates hook up with share and develop information, assets, and alternatives.  

Due to pre-existing GFO relationships like WayGreen, Inc. And Motion Pact, Waycross represented an ideal launchpad for Household Farm Share. 

FAMILY FARM SHARE: UPDATES AND WHAT’S NEXT 

In November 2021, members of Georgia Organics’ Household Farm Share crew met in Atlanta for the lengthy drive to Waycross. 

In the course of the go to, we met with household advocates and surveyed households at Motion Pact’s Head Begin campus to find out their present and aspirational habits with vegatables and fruits, locally-grown and store-bought. A few of that knowledge is shared under.
