It’s about time I let you know extra about my attractive Bordeaux Rose! This compact rose is planted in full solar by my entrance door, welcoming all who dine at The Rose Desk. I’m so glad I selected a crimson rose for this spot as a result of this rose blooms by means of Christmas yearly, showering me with crimson blooms typically till the start of January.
That is an lovely little rose, solely rising about 3 ft tall and a couple of ft vast. This rose took some time to fill out and get going however now that it’s established, it’s a real work horse. This rose is drought tolerant and warmth resistant, making it a wonderful selection for southern gardeners like myself. Mine bakes in full afternoon solar right here in Texas and I don’t assume I’ve ever seen black spot or any points with this hardy rose!
Bordeaux is a deep crimson floribunda with a light-weight, citrusy scent. The blooms are notably fairly, with extra of a fluttery, vintage form. The colour by no means fades, staying that deep crimson colour from bud till the final petal falls.
Floribundas on the whole are fairly low upkeep in comparison with my beloved hybrid teas and that is undoubtedly one of many best keepers in my backyard. Bordeaux is a repeat bloomer, that means it sends up rose after rose after rose April – December right here in zone 8. If you happen to’re on the lookout for a small, low upkeep crimson rose, I extremely advocate including Bordeaux to your backyard!
